Privacy Policy

Effective 7 August 2026 · applies to the ClearTrace mobile app and cleartrace.in

ClearTrace is a personal finance app for recording money you manage — your own spending, money kept for family members, informal loans, chit installments, and settlements. This policy explains what information the app handles, where it goes, and how you stay in control. The short version: your records exist to serve you, we collect the minimum needed to run the service, and we never sell or share your data.

Information you provide

Information we do not collect

How your data is used

Your data is used for exactly one purpose: showing you your own records and keeping them in sync across your devices. We do not sell, rent, or share your information with third parties. We do not use your financial records for advertising, profiling, credit scoring, or any purpose other than operating the app for you.

Where your data lives

Records are stored in a local database on your device. When you sign in, they are synced over an encrypted connection (HTTPS/TLS) to the ClearTrace server at service.cleartrace.in. Notifications (such as reminder alerts) are generated locally on your device and are not sent through external push services.

Security

Deleting your data

Data retention

Synced records are kept for as long as your account exists so that you can restore them. When an account is deleted, its records are removed from our active systems and from backups on their normal rotation schedule.

Children

ClearTrace is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, we will update this page and note the new effective date above. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
