Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of the ClearTrace mobile application and the cleartrace.in website ("the Service"). By using the Service you agree to these terms.

What ClearTrace is — and is not

• ClearTrace is a record-keeping tool. It stores and organises the entries you make about your own money.
• ClearTrace is not a bank, wallet, payment system, lender, chit fund, or investment platform. No money moves through the Service, and no balances shown in the app represent funds held by us.
• ClearTrace does not run, promote, or broker chit funds. The chit tracker only records installments of chits you participate in independently, with organisers of your own choosing.
• Nothing in the app is financial, legal, or tax advice.

Your records, your responsibility

Balances, statements, and totals are computed from entries you make. They are only as accurate as what you record. Statements generated by the app are informal records for your personal use — they are not certified accounts and may not be treated as legal instruments.

Your account

• You are responsible for keeping your password and device secure.
• You must provide a valid email address if you create an account.
• You may delete your account at any time from within the app or by contacting us.

Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service — including attempting to access other users' data, interfering with the servers, or using the Service for unlawful activity. We may suspend accounts that do.

Availability and changes

We work to keep the Service reliable, but it is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. Features may change, and we may discontinue the Service with reasonable notice, during which you will be able to export or retain your local data.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ClearTrace and its operators are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for losses arising from decisions made based on records kept in the app. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim (the Service is currently free, so this may be zero).

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India.
